Bharat Puri  N77- appointed Cadburys Plc Director Global Chocolate  and appointed to Chief Executive Commitee in Oct 2008

He joined Cadbury in 1998 as Director of Sales and Marketing for Cadbury India, one of the fastest growing Consumer Goods companies in India. In 2002 he was appointed Managing Director South Asia (looking after India, Pakistan and the other SAARC countries).  After successfully rebuilding Cadbury India to its pre-eminent position, Bharat moved to a Regional role in 2006 where he was responsible for Strategy, Marketing and sales for the entire Asia Pacific region.

PRG-Schultz International, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRGX) the world’s largest recovery audit firm, Headquartered in  Atlanta announced that the Board of Directors has selected Romil Bahl to be the company’s next President and Chief Executive Officer.Romil is expected to join on 21Jan09 and will also be a member of board of directors.

Bahl brings over 18 years of professional services experience to PRG-Schultz.He was earlier Managing director with Infosys Consulting . Before which, he led the global consulting services business of EDS . And between 1995 – 2002 he held a number of senior roles at the management consulting firm of A.T. Kearney, last serving as the leader of the firm’s European strategic technology and transformation practice based in London. He began his career at Deloitte Consulting.

He holds an M.B.A from the University of Texas at Austin and an undergraduate engineering degree from the Directorate of Marine Engineering and Technology in Calcutta, India.

Sukhbir Badal (OS80) was sworn in as Dy CM of Punjab on 21 Jan 2009

Three-times Lok Sabha MP from Punjab (at present representing Faridkot), Sukhbir has been Minister of State for Industries in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government in 1998-99. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2001.

The President has approved the appointment of Navin Chawla as the Chief Election Commissioner with effect from April 20 2009 on completion of the tenure of N Gopalaswami," a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said here today.
 
Chawla, an IAS officer of the 1969 batch, will hold charge till July 29, 2010 when he will attain the age of 65 years.
He has earlier served in various capacities in the government during his career, the last being secretary in the
 Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He has also served as secretary to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
