OSNA-e Pool Party hosted by Harpal Maini VBD'83 on July 29 2019

Old Sanawarians from the Northeast gathered on June 29th at AnneMarie and Harpal Maini’s (Hopsy VBD ’83) house in South Orange, NJ for a lovely afternoon of food, mingling and swimming. We had a great turnout – about 30 people including OS & their loved ones – who came from MA, PA, NJ, NY, CT and as far as Vancouver, Canada. The ages ranged from Jagga (NBD ’08) to mid-range Jaivir Sidhu ( NBD’01, and with Anupma D. Singh (HGD’59) being our wisest representative! 

The adults gathered under the shady trees chatting, drinking and snacking on yummy samosas, chicken kebabs and other appetizers. The kids had a chilled time in the pool staying cool and out of trouble. It was wonderful to re-connect with our seniors and juniors as well as make brand new OS friends and see where our respective lives have taken us. We caught up on current Sna news as well as recounted a few ‘in my day’ stories. 

As always, we are connected by our shared experiences growing up in the ‘Best School of All.’ We have each taken the strong foundation that Sanawar provided us and carved our own unique paths through the years. 

We then moved indoors for a lovely lunch spread where KumKum Bhasin (HGD ’67) shared with us a more formal presentation of the Headmaster’s Master Plan for Sanawar for the next few years. We learned of the ambitious plans for development and expansion for the school. The architectural renderings gave us an impressive image of what the campus might look like and the funds that are needed to make that dream a reality. We ended with a plan to reconvene on October 5th for our annual OS North America – Eastern Region Reunion and a keen interest in keeping such gatherings going.
